PowWow In Administration. PowWow Leave Customers High and Dry

PowWow went into administration back in March 2010 but even now we get old PowWow customers coming to us!

Due to PowWow Water Company Limited entering administration there are now thousands of PowWow customers in need of a new water cooler company. If you’ve been affected and need either a bottled or mains fed water cooler call Thirsty4Water now on 01924 237760.

Years of poor customer service and numerous shifts in ownership – POWWOW passed their company on to the administrators. After years of building up their large customer base with strong sales pitches and a supposed “setting the standard for superior service” it finally came to an end for POWWOW.

They left around 50,000 POWWOW customers out of the loop without any water or cooler care. The POWWOW vans were withdrawn, the drivers and office staff have had their employment terminated and their water coolers will be picked up from sites.

Water Warriors – The Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge

Upon receiving our invite from The Huddersfield and Wakefield Rotary Clubs, Thirsty 4

Water were highly delighted to enter their team.

Water Warriors, for the third year running, in The Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge recently held at Pugneys Country Park, Wakefield.

The whole day’s racing was controlled by Dragon Boat Events Ltd., a registered professional company who provided all the equipment, including the traditional 40ft Dragon Boats, safety gear, and a qualified helmsmen. Their Event Director and Lake Marshalls ensured that the whole day ran smoothly.

Once again, we had an amazing, action-packed day; enjoying near perfect weather conditions, heaps of fun and plenty of team spirit, as well as the scrumptious BBQ food provided and cooked to perfection by our company directors. There was lots of support from families and friends, boat loads of laughter, and the emphasis was on fun, enthusiasm, and great anticipation of winning the race!

The Event is becoming increasingly popular and a total of 25 Dragon Boats, each with a crew of 16 paddlers and a drummer, entered this year’s Challenge. Being given a further opportunity to put our own team to the test, we were determined to improve on past performances. We did just this, and the highlight of our day was of course, not only to progress to the semi-final heats and totally amaze ourselves by paddling first past the post, but to reach the Grand Finale and have the chance to compete for the trophy, head-to-head against five other challenge-hungry Dragon Boat teams, was most exhilarating. As with all teams who took part, Water Warriors were totally determined, focused and gave their heart ‘n soul.

So, although we may not have won anything this year, we shared some amazing experiences, enjoyed great interaction and team spirit, and whilst having such a good time, managed to raise in excess of £1,500.00 towards the nominated charities, Make-A-Wish UK (granting magical wishes for seriously-ill children) and the Wakefield & Kirkwood Hospices. That’s over £400.00 up on last year – I think that really is an excellent achievement so very well done guys.
