We’d like to take the opportunity raise awareness about the petition launched in Bristol to urge the Bristol Council to make a commitment to the provision of adequately maintained drinking water fountains in the city. The lead petitioner is Katie Alcott founder of our charity partner Frank Water. The petition calls on Bristol City Council erect and maintain public drinking water fountains located in the busiest public spaces and that the water fountains are kept in proper working order so the public have access to fresh drinking water as per the Public Health Act of 1925.

Water Fountain Petition Goals

The water fountain petition calls on Bristol City Council to do the following:

Recognise the benefits of public drinking fountains as the cheap, environmentally friendly, healthy and safe alternative to bottled water and soft drinks.

Give its backing to the Turn Me On campaign and welcome the efforts of local people and community groups to bring back public drinking fountains in Bristol.

Commit to work with local community groups, water companies and other stakeholders to erect and maintain drinking fountains in proper working order across the city to provide access to clean, safe public drinking water.

Be amongst the leading local authorities in the country on this issue by ensuring that the 3 busiest public areas in Bristol have a public drinking fountain; new and existing fountains are properly signposted; and there is a programme in place to turn existing fountains back on and that all fountains should be properly maintained.

Please take the time to sign the petition here.

PowWow update for all existing PowWow customers – due to PowWow Water Company Limited entering administration there are now thousands of PowWow customers in need of a new water cooler company. If you’ve been affected and need either a bottled or mains fed water cooler call Thirsty4Water now on 01924 237760.

Established in 1946 and part of the Wilkes Group, Thirsty4Water is a family company, with a proud history of unparalleled customer service and an ethical company ethos. Partnered with Frank Water Projects – a water charity that provides clean drinking water to some of India’s most vulnerable communities – Thirsty4Water donates £10 for every water cooler rented or sold!

PowWow In Administration

After months of speculation, years of poor customer service and numerous shifts in ownership – POWWOW have finally done the expected and passed their company on to the administrators. After years of building up their large customer base with strong sales pitches and a supposed “setting the standard for superior service” it has all finally come to an end for POWWOW.

This has left around 50,000 POWWOW customers out of the loop without any water or cooler care. The POWWOW vans have all been withdrawn, the drivers and office staff have had their employment terminated and their water coolers will be picked up from sites shortly. This has meant that extreme measures are needed – here at Thirsty 4 Water we have taken on extra staff to be able to provide POWWOW customers with a first class water cooler service.

Powow Water Cooler Company

Thirsty 4 Water are the premier independent water cooler and water supplier in the UK providing a comprehensive, efficient and friendly water cooler service with no waiting on hold, no confusing invoices, no overseas call centers and the family run respect that is required to run a first class water cooler service. Our company has been established since 1946 and still in the same family ownership. You can be sure to find the reassurance and confidence needed from Thirsty 4 Water!

PowWow will not be delivering any water, will not be servicing any water coolers and all PowWow water cooler contracts are now VOID!

This unfortunate revelation is something which has been largely in anticipation not only from PowWow customers but also other water cooler companies. With concern that the large number of PowWow customer’s water coolers will be empty, we are here to offer a helping hand to all those customers who need any water due to the circumstances.
