Mains Water Coolers
Mains water coolers are ideal for offices, schools, gyms, waiting rooms and other environments where a fresh supply of cool drinking water is needed. If you’re considering a mains fed water cooler and would like to find more about installation, filter replacement and maintenance see below for our advice, tips and further information.
Mains Water Cooler Installation Tips
To encourage staff to regularly drink water, choosing a convenient location for your water cooler is key. Our mains fed water coolers can be installed up to 50 metres away for the mains water supply, so you can be flexible about where your mains water cooler is installed. We recommend installing water coolers where staff can relax for a few minutes while getting a drink of water, for instance, in a coffee room or kitchen. Water coolers should not be installed in or near toilets, it is unhygienic and unpleasant.
Mains Water Cooler Filters
In some parts of the UK, mains fed water coolers don’t require filters because fresh, healthy water comes straight out of the tap. Water cooler filters can be fitted to improve the taste of tap water but they shouldn’t be used to filter a water supply containing debris or that is poor and unsafe to drink. Filters for water coolers require regular replacement; our rental packages include filter replacement so your water retains its great, fresh taste.
Mains Water Cooler Maintenance
It is essential to have regular water cooler maintenance for servicing, repairs and filter replacements. If water cooler maintenance isn’t carried out, there will be a drop in water quality and it may even become undrinkable. Our water rental packages include comprehensive service package so you won’t have to worry about servicing or your water cooler breaking down.
As well as professional water cooler maintenance, it’s important to take steps to keep your water cooler sanitised. Below are some recommendations:
- Empty the drip tray on a daily basis
- Use a mild detergent to clean taps and panel
- Regularly clean all external surfaces
- If you don’t use your water cooler for a few days or more. Flush it through with a few litres of water. (Recycle the water where possible watering plants etc)
- If you don’t use your water cooler for a few weeks or more, clean thoroughly and flush out before use
